Project ,,Volunteer locally, act globally” began in autumn, 2016. The goal of this project is to empower young people in organizing voluntary actions on the local level, while focusing on global social issues.

So far, we organized 3 trainings in 3 local high schools in Novi Sad, where we talked with young people about the meaning of volunteerism and activism; after that, students themselves (with our help) organized different voluntary actions, focusing od different issues in our community, but related to the global narrative.

In one of those schools (Medical school ,,7th of April”)  we collected help for the refugees and migrants that are currently staying in camps and reception centers all over the country. All clothes and shoes we collected went to Refugee Aid Miksalište, and to Subotica border. Before the beginning of our voluntary action, we talked with students about the current refugee situation in Serbia and in Europe, and we pointed out organizations and resources where they can find more information about the topic.

All we collected was transported by help of the organization called NSHC (Novi Sad humanitarian center). It’s the organization that is very active regarding this topic.
